PRODUCT CARE

We want your Suzanne Kalan jewelry to become a beautiful heirloom, but in order for that to happen, it must be properly cared for.

  • Remove your jewelry when washing your hands or using harsh products that could damage precious metal, or stones.
  • Keep your jewelry away from intense sources of heat and extreme temperature changes
  • Jewelry pieces can become scratched when coming into contact with one another. We recommend you store them individually in the SK pouch and /or box it came in.

For diamonds, rubies or sapphires set in gold rinse the jewelry with a drop of ammonia added to water and apply with a soft bristle brush.  After cleaning, ensure the items are thoroughly dry by patting them with paper towels.

For other gemstones: soak the jewelry in a bowl of water with a small amount of mild dish soap.  If needed, remove dirt around and behind the stone using a soft-bristle baby toothbrush.  Place jewelry in a strainer and rinse before thoroughly drying with a lint-free cloth.

For layered gemstones, to remove dirt, wipe them with the white side of a DY polishing cloth.  Avoid exposing the gemstones to heat.

Ultrasonic cleaning is not safe for many gemstones, so we advise against this method.

Many stones such as amethyst, emerald, kunzite, opal, pearl, peridot, tanzanite and tourmaline are very delicate and easily abraded.

REPAIRING

Due to the delicate nature of our jewelry your SK piece may require a repair from time to time. Please email customerservice@suzannekalan.com detailing the nature of the repair. When emailing customerservice@suzannekalan.com make sure to reference your Order Number and Repair Issue or Sizing Information. You will be provided a Repair Authorization Number which must be clearly labeled on the package.

RESIZING

This service lets you increase or reduce the size of your bracelet, necklace or ring, as much as possible without affecting its aesthetic or design.

Your first re-sizing service is complimentary. 

The customer is responsible for any and all shipping charges associated with resizing.

ENGRAVING

This service allows you to personalize a creation by having a name, date, or design engraved on it.  Any type of inscription is possible, but it will depend on the space available on your jewelry.

The simple engraving service is a complimentary.  Anything labor intensive is evaluated on a case by case basis.

The customer is responsible for any and all shipping charges associated with engraving.

SHINING / CLEANING

This service is inclusive of buffing, cleaning, and shining.   It is not available for white gold jewelry with a rhodiumized finish. We recommend professional cleanings annually

The Shining Service is Complimentary

POLISHING

The polishing service entails a precise inspection of your SK jewelry.  The inspection process includes looking for loose stones, bent prongs, and any damage to the metal or stones that needs to be repaired.

Polishing cannot remove deep scratches or dents.

The Polishing Service involves the removal of a thin layer of metal; therefore, we recommend that it is not carried out often.

Our Polishing Service starts at $100 USD.
