Sustainability
Ethically Sourced
At Suzanne Kalan, we are deeply committed to both our craft and the world around us.
We believe that the beauty of nature should be celebrated, not exploited. This is why we source our stones with the utmost care and respect for the earth, ensuring that they are ethically and sustainably sourced. We are proud to be part of an industry that creates timeless pieces, but we never forget the importance of preserving the planet for future generations. It is our belief that when we approach our work with a sense of responsibility, we can create not only stunning jewelry but also a better world.
We are proud to adhere to the highest ethical standards in the industry, including strict compliance with the Kimberly Process. Our diamonds are carefully selected from legitimate sources that have no connection to conflict funding and are in full alignment with United Nations Resolutions.
We are committed to transparency and to providing our customers with peace of mind, knowing that their diamond jewelry has been sourced with the utmost care and respect for human rights and the environment. We stand behind the authenticity and ethical origin of each and every diamond we use, backed by our personal knowledge and written guarantees from our trusted suppliers. We are dedicated to creating beautiful, timeless pieces while maintaining the highest level of integrity and responsibility.
Regarding diamonds acquired prior to January 1, 2003, SUZANNE KALAN wants to assure our valued customers that we have no reason to believe that these diamonds are conflict diamonds, which were traded in violation of any United Nations Resolutions.
While we cannot guarantee the origin of diamonds acquired before the implementation of the Kimberly Process, we remain committed to the highest ethical standards in the industry and to providing our customers with complete transparency in our sourcing practices. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Gemstone Quality
Precicous & Semi Precious
In our 14k and 18k collections, we use only natural diamonds of G color and VS quality. We carefully select our diamonds based on quality, color, and grade, and we have long-standing relationships with our trusted suppliers.
Our commitment to excellence extends beyond our own quality control, as our products are also sold in some of the world's top retailers, each with their own stringent quality control standards.
Whether you are purchasing from us directly or from one of our esteemed retailers, you can rest assured that you are getting a truly exceptional piece of jewelry that has been crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail.
Our emeralds sourced from either Zambia or Columbia.
To preserve the emeralds inherent qualities, our emeralds are not subjected to heat treatment, ensuring that each stone is a unique expression of nature's artistry. They are expertly cut in Thailand, where the finest craftsmanship and attention to detail are the hallmarks of the process. With their rich color and exceptional quality, our emeralds are truly a breathtaking addition to any jewelry collection.
All of our sapphires are AAA quality and 100% natural. They are sourced from regions in South Africa and Asia and are never treated or heated in any way.
They are cut in Thailand with extra care and attention to detail allowing their inherent qualities to shine through, resulting in a truly unique and stunning piece of jewelry. Our sapphires are testament to our commitment, capturing the essence of nature in each and every stone.
We are also proud to offer AAA quality rubies in our collections. Most of our rubies are sourced from Mozambique, and on occasion, from other regions of Africa like Madagascar.
These exceptional stones are expertly cut in Thailand and are treated with Borax to enhance their natural beauty. Unlike some treatments, we only use techniques that are safe and sustainable, never resorting to methods that utilize lead. Our rubies are handpicked for their exceptional quality and vibrant color.
Our commitment to quality extends to the careful sourcing of our pearls, ensuring each piece reflects both luxury and ethical standards. Our collection features a diverse array of pearls, each type with its own unique charm and sourced with the utmost responsibility.

Certificates
We are committed to transparency and honesty in all aspects of our business. That is why, with each purchase, we can provide a certificate of authenticity that clearly states the quality of the diamonds used in each piece.
If you would like a certificate of authenticity, please make the request during checkout. You may also request one anytime after your purchase or even if you made your purchase through one of our retailers listed on our website.
We also understand that some customers may prefer a GIA certificate for their diamonds or gemstones. However, it is important to note that obtaining a GIA certificate for each stone comes with an additional cost of $300 or more.
For this reason, the stones used in our collections are not GIA certified, unless they are larger diamonds or emeralds featured in some of our one-of-a-kind pieces.
Our focus is on providing our customers with exceptional jewelry at accessible prices, and we are confident in the quality and authenticity of the stones we use in our collections. If you have any questions or concerns, our team is always here to assist and provide the information you need to make an informed purchase.
